Succulent plants on show to greet Chinese New Year

As a prelude to a series of celebratory events to welcome the upcoming lunar Chinese New Year, a special exhibition featuring succulent plants is ongoing at the Distinctive Plant Collection of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG).

   A total of 3000 succulent plants from 100 genera in 11 families are on show to greet the Chinese New Year, which will feast the eyes of visitors.

   Some important succulents on display are Espostoa lanata var. mocupensis, Echeveria‘Dick Wright’, Kalanchoe tomentosa Baker),Crassula rupestris subsp. Marnieriana(Huber & Jacobsen)Toelken and Stephania erecta Craib, etc.

   The exhibition is themed with succulent beauty in tropical forest. The succulents are staged with different styles and background. There are also explanatory plates and posters.

 The exhibition lasts from January 20 to February 20.
